Proverbs 31:20

"She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy."

This woman, not only maintains her household and her family, but she is welcoming to the those that are in need.  With today's crazy schedule, who has time to take care of those that are less fortunate? The Proverbs 31 woman does!  She is our example.  When we give to the needy, our husband, children, and friends see our example.  It is important that we understand the blessings that God has given us.  God doesn't want us to be hoarders with all that He has given us.  The purpose for those blessings is for us share, give, and be examples of God's love.

Things to think about:

- How can you extend yourself to others that need help?
- How can you show God's love through your giving?
- What examples can you share with your children about the importance of giving?

Proverbs 31:19

Her hands are comfort when her children come to her.  Her hands are outstretched to those who look to her for help and kindness. She holds her husband's hand to remind him that she loves him and is grateful that God had brought them together.

Things to think about:

-  Look at your hands.  What have you done to make a difference using your hands?

Proverbs 31:17

She does not get sad or bored with her day to day task.  She looks at each day with an opportunity to do better.  By doing her work with a positive attitude, she is knows that she is also improving herself.  The Proverbs woman finds joy in her work and also keeps herself in shape as she works vigorously.

Things to think about:

- What task can you do that will not only benefit your family, but also benefit keeping you in shape?

An Attitude of Gratitude

Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;
make know among the nations what he has done.
Sing to him, sing praise to him;
tell of all his wonderful acts.
Glory in his holy name;
let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
Look to the Lord and his strength;
seek His face always.
Psalm 105: 1-5

When we have an attitude of gratitude, we are glorifying God and benefiting ourselves.  We need to give God thanks so we can become the kind of woman He wants us to be.  He longs for us to be unselfish, encouraging and confident.

When we give thanks, it refocuses our attention from the anxieties of the world to God gifts.  We refocus on the Lord by thanking Him for all He has provided for us through His guidance and His faithfulness.  Gratitude reminds us that the Christian path is not about us, but about the needs of others.  We reinforce our faith and confidence in Him.

Thanksgiving is a great way to get ourselves out of discouragement.  Have an attitude of gratitude and let God refocus your thoughts to all the beauty that God has provided around you!

Have a blessed day!
