Your Self Worth and Negativity

“Stop determining your worth and value by what other people say. Be determined by what the Word of God says.”

- Joyce Meyer

There are some people who always see things in a negative light.  They complain or find things wrong in every situation.  These people lack mercy and they are quick with judgement of themselves and others.  Negativity only harms ourselves and those around us.  We need to protect ourselves and make a conscious effort to keep negativity away.  God wants us to build one another up, not tear each other down.

As Christian women, we should look at ourselves and others and situations in life as God would see them.  God is sovereign and loves people unconditionally.  What a dramatic effect we could make on people if we only followed the example of Jesus.  Let's make that difference today!

Verses:

"If ye have faith...nothing shall be impossible unto you." (Matthew 17:20).

"If God be for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31)

"The kingdom of God is within you." (Luke 17:21).

  1. Negativity is very destructive for those who live it and those who are affected by it. Our first inclination is to put as much distance as possible between ourselves and the negative individual. Sometimes that is the best choice - however it is important to remember God allowed that person in your life. What is it you have that can be a positive influence on that individual?

It takes a spiritually strong individual to reach out to these people. Don't be to hasty to decline the opportunity to make a difference in this person's life.

Wherever God leads you - He will sustain you. Sometimes God uses irritating individuals as sandpaper in the lives of believers. And - sometimes He sends hurting individuals to someone who has the ability to make a difference in their lives.
