Proverbs 31:10

"Who can find a virtuous woman?  For her price is far above rubies."  Proverbs 31:10


From the very start this woman is praised. She is valued and respected above anything else. She is capable and intelligent. Her husband values her and praises her because she praises him. She is a rare find and should be appreciated and respected. God makes it very clear how important our role as a woman can be.

Think of the Proverbs 31 woman as a role model. Think of her as a goal to strive for. A woman that God will help you strive to become if you trust Him and if you are willing to change.

Things to think about:

- How do you treat your husband?

- When words come out of your mouth, are they words of praising or tearing down?

- Would you say you are an encouragement or discouragement to others?

Take inventory on yourself and ask yourself these questions. Think about ways you can change your words to positive and encouraging words. Think of how you can be a blessing to those around you.

Why am I afraid?

For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.  Isaiah 41:13 

In the past, this bible verse always brought me comfort.  Unfortunately I have not been feeling or believing what it says.  I'm not proud to admit that.  I have been feeling afraid.  Afraid of everything.  I have no confidence in my abilities at work, as a wife, as a mother or as a friend.  What's going on with me?  I often asked God as I read Isaiah 41:13, "Why aren't you helping me?"  


Months passed and the fear continued to dwell within me and God had been silent.  But today I received an answer.  As the words, "...who takes hold of your right hand..." went through my mind I realized that God has only been waiting for me to extend my hand to Him before He takes hold of it. God is a gentleman and waits patiently for us to approach Him.  Do you ever start living your life without giving any thought to God's direction or leading or even asking Him for guidance?  That is what I was doing.  I stopped my daily devotions and my daily bible readings because I've been too busy.  Maybe that's just an excuse.  Maybe I've been trying to live my own life and not allow God to do the leading.   


If you are feeling afraid, open up your bible and read scripture on fear.  Place God back in the forefront of your life and don't make excuses to not spend time with Him daily.  How easy it is for us to get caught up in the world and walk ahead of God instead of allowing Him to lead the way.

An Attitude of Gratitude


Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; 
make know among the nations what he has done.  
Sing to him, sing praise to him; 
tell of all his wonderful acts.  
Glory in his holy name;
let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
Look to the Lord and his strength;
seek His face always. 
Psalm 105: 1-5







When we have an attitude of gratitude, we are glorifying God and benefiting ourselves.  We need to give God thanks so we can become the kind of woman He wants us to be.  He longs for us to be unselfish, encouraging and confident.

When we give thanks, it refocuses our attention from the anxieties of the world to God gifts.  We refocus on the Lord by thanking Him for all He has provided for us through His guidance and His faithfulness.  Gratitude reminds us that the Christian path is not about us, but about the needs of others.  We reinforce our faith and confidence in Him.

Thanksgiving is a great way to get ourselves out of discouragement.  Have an attitude of gratitude and let God refocus your thoughts to all the beauty that God has provided around you!

Trials in Life

 I am the LORD, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God. I will strengthen you,though you have not acknowledged me, so that from the rising of the sun to the place of its setting men may know there is none besides me. I am the LORD, and there is no other. I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the LORD, do all these things.  "You heavens above, rain down righteousness; let the clouds shower it down. Let the earth open wide, let salvation spring up, let righteousness grow with it; I, the LORD, have created it.Isaiah 45:5-8




Hardships.  We wonder why God allows us to go through such painful experiences.  It does not  seem right that our loving, precious Father would allow such things to happen.  When we experience hardships, we need to remember a few facts about the adversities we are facing:

There is sin in the world.  Because we live in a fallen word, sin has entered our lives.  With sin comes suffering and hardships.  God could keep us from it, but instead God wants us to grow form it.  He wants us to trust Him.  He wants us to go to Him through our own free will.

We make bad choices.  Sometime our sufferings are from our own foolish and sinful choices.  Most likely when we are walking in the flesh and not by the Holy Spirit.  If God stepped in every time we made a thoughtless decision, we would never learn from those mistakes.  We would never learn about consequences. 

We are under attack by Satan.  The enemy will do all he can to hinder us from the Lord.  He will place obstacles in our way.  He will throw distractions and temptations to keep us from growing in God's word and purpose.

God is ultimately in charge.  God allows afflictions to happen.  We must see problems as God's way to use it to achieve His good purpose for our lives.

What does God want from Me?

"This is good and pleases God our Savior, how wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth."  1 Timothy 2:3-4


God's desire is for ALL of us to be saved from sin and death (spiritual death).  He reaches out to us with compassion and love.  He wants us to open our hearts and let Him in.  God wants us to continually grow in the knowledge of who He is through prayer, reading scripture and applying that scripture to our lives.  He longs for us to have a relationship with Him.

When we allow God in our day to day lives, our character, attitude and behavior will start to resemble His son and we can impact nonbelievers.  Some people might reject us because they prefer the darkness that allows them to live a life that is pleasing to the flesh and not God.  Some people will respond favorably to your witness because they will see the love, peace and joy Christ displayed in you by your attitude and actions.

It's time to allow God into your life.  Your Heavenly Father only wants the best for His precious children.

Be a Spiritual Woman

"Brother and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly - mere infants in Christ." 1 Corinthians 3:1





Living in today's world, there are many obstacles Christians face.  Today's world seems to have little interest in spiritual matter of the Holy Bible.  The secular world instructs us to do what is pleasing to ur flesh (what feels good) despite the face if it is right or wrong. 

The world is also materialistic.  Gaining wealth is favored in our world and giving or sacrificing for others is looked at as a sign of weakness.  Don't be decieved by what the world tells you.  Be mindful not to fall prey to the world's lies.

Pour yourself into God's word.  Love and priase the one who loves and cares about you, not the world.  Study scripture and the more do, the Holy Spirit will help you see the lies.  The Holy Spirit will show you the bibical truths for your life.

Be A Woman of Peace

"Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice.  And the God of peace will be with you."
Philippians 4:8-9


In today's world, it is a difficult road for woman with all the demands of being a mother, home-maker, career woman and wife.  That is why it's important that we find God's peace and store it up within ourselves.   After reading the scripture above, here are some tips on how you can find that peace that God wants for all of His children.

Read - Are you pouring into God's teachings?  It's important that we make time to read God's word daily.  Find a quiet time in your day, open your bible and pour into His word. 

Receive -  God's instructions and teachings are very powerful.  Don't rush through your daily reading.  Go slow, meditate and savior God's word.

Ask -  Pray that God will give you discernment and understanding to what you are reading.  It's amazing how God will reveal certain scripture that applies to events going on in your life.

Do - Discipline yourself to apply what you are learning.  Make an effort to incorporate God's spiritual truths to your life and you will see a positive and encouraging change. 

Let's respond graciously in a peaceful manner.  When we practice and actively seek to receive God's inner peace, we start to demonstrate the attitude of our Savior.
