What Does God Want?

This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come
to a knowledge of the truth.
1 Timothy 2:3-4

God's desire is for all of us to be saved from our sins and death.  He reaches out to us with compassion and love.  He wants us to open our hearts and let Him in.  He wants us to continually grow in the knowledge of who He is, through prayer and reading scripture.  He longs for us to have a relationship with Him.

When we allow Him in our day to day lives, our character, attitude and behavior starts to resemble His son and we can impact nonbelievers.

Some people might reject us because they prefer living a life in darkness that allows them to deny the truth.  Some people will respond favorably to your witness because they will see the love, peace and joy Christ displayed in you by your attitude and actions.

It's time to allow God into our lives.  Your Heavenly Father only wants the best for His precious children.

Hope you were blessed by this message today!

Procrastination Woman

Go to the ant, you sluggard!  Consider her ways to be wise, which having no captain, overseer or ruler, provides her supplies in the summer and gathers her food in the harvest.
Proverbs 6:6-10

One of my New Year resolutions is follow the advise of Proverbs 6.  We have moments of ducking our responsibility and procrastinate our planning for the future.  As a result, we waste both opportunities and gifts.  The ant is an example of a strong work ethic.  All summer long the ant makes use of good weather and abundant food source to store away in winter.  The ant teaches us responsibility and planning to provide security for self and family.

It's amazing that God's creations are illustrated to instruct us.  God has created spiritual lessons into nature and we can learn from creatures even as tiny as an ant.

The Best Things in Life

Do not overwork to be rich; because of your own understanding, cease!  Will you set your own eyes on that which is not?  For riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away like an eagle toward heaven.
Proverbs 23:4-7

There is a lot of truth to the saying, "The best things in life are free."  Some people believe the best things in life are expensive.  True value is family, friends and faith.  This is what matter most in life.

The best things in life are not the riches that can waste away, but the eternal riches that comes from God's goodness and grace.  Let's not make stuff our treasures, but those things of God.  Take those treasures that only come from God and store them up in your heart today!

Hope this blesses you today!

Stay Calm and Be Quiet

                    Surely, I have calmed and quieted by soul, like a weaned child with his mother;
like a weaned child is my soul within me.
Psalm 131: 2-3

Life can be so busy.  There are always things to do, people to meet and places to go.  This fast pace robs us of the quietness we need.

The psalmist in today's devotion knew the importance of calm and quiet moments.  Even Jesus went away from the crowds and rested.  He know it wasn't wise to constantly be busy and rush through life.

When was the last time you calmed and quieted your soul?  Find a place to be alone and keep away from the distractions and start listening to God's voice.  Let Him speak to you as you read His word.  Let God refresh your mind, heart and soul with strength to live life for His glory.

We hope this message has blessed you today!

The Good and the Bad

"Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity."
Job 2:10

When life seems to go our way and there is peace and joy, it is easy to praise God for all our blessings.  But when our lives don't go the way we anticipated and we go through adversity, how do we feel about God in those moments?  How do we feel when our focus is off our blessings and we are thrust into a bad situation?

Job is an excellent example of how we are to view God especially during the trials in our lives.  Job was wise and loved God despite all the suffering he had endured.  Job's love for God did not depend on a solution to all his problems.  Job trusted and loved God because of all that God is.

Our love for God should not be based on only what God can do for us.  We should love Him for who He is.  Focus on God's character and it will help you to realize that despite our hardship, God is still with us.  I have found that when I am in the middle of a difficult time in my life, once I get through it, I am stronger for it.

I'm hoping this will bless you!

Calm and Quiet

"I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with his mother; like a weaned child is my soul within." Psalm 131

Life can be so busy.  There is always one more project to get done.  The fast pace can rob us of the quietness we need within ourselves.  It is important to have  times of calm and quiet.  It is not wise to accelerate through life.  During our quiet times with God, in prayer and reading scripture, is when we are more likely to hear Him.  Distractions keep us from listening.

Let the Lord speak to you as you read His word.  Allow Him to refresh your heart and renew your mind with the strength to live life for His glory.

Take a moment to refuel your soul...be calm and quiet.

Be Blessed Today!
